Think about speed, main ideas, details, discussion, scanning, using context, tone. - What do you want to read?
Think about short stories, novels, poems, biographies, newspapers, magazines. Writing - Which skills need work?
Think about summarizing, paraphrasing, informing, narrating, persuading, organization, grammar. - What sort of things would you like to write?
Think about resumes, applications, enquiries, complaints, proposals, essays, summaries, stories, poems. Grammar - With which points do you have problems?
Think about tenses: past, present, future, continuous, perfect; voice: passive and active; subject-verb agreement; articles; comparatives; conditionals; adjective clauses. Professional / Business English - What skills do you need in your job? What topics are relevant?
Think about marketing, advertising, entertaining clients, idioms and vocabulary. Academic English - What are you having problems doing?
Think about debating skills, giving presentations, taking notes, making outlines, doing research, citing sources. You can study English in any context. Possible EFL/ESL course topics include: We offer a full 7-week course, a mini 1-week course and 2 tutorial options. In the full course classes will meet for three hours each week (a total of 21 hours). This course costs $525. The mini course consists of 3 class hours and costs $81. Tutorials are available at $35 per hour; you can sign up for 3 hours ($105) or 9 hours ($315). Your instructor will lead dynamic class discussions and give focused assignments, paying close attention to your language production so that he or she can best help you to improve. You will also be given several homework assignments to be done either individually or as a group. Your instructor will give you regular progress reports.
